In-Home ABA Therapy

If you’re looking for ABA therapy that comes to you, we can help. United Care ABA brings Board Certified Behavior Analysts and trained therapists directly to your home, so your child can learn the skills they need in the place where they’ll actually use them.

Do you wonder if your child will ever be able to tell you what’s bothering them? If their meltdowns will ever stop feeling so unpredictable? If you’ll ever make it through a simple morning routine without everything falling apart?

One-on-one ABA therapy addresses these concerns.

What In-Home ABA Therapy Looks Like

In-home ABA therapy means a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Behavior Technician work with your child in your house. Sessions happen in whatever room makes sense for what you’re practicing—the kitchen for mealtime skills, the bathroom for handwashing, the bedroom for getting dressed.

The advantage of home-based care is simple: skills practiced at home stick better. Your child isn’t learning routines in a clinic and then trying to apply them in a completely different environment. They’re practicing actual life skills in the place where they’ll use them every day.

In-home ABA therapy is often a good fit for families who:

Have a child diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, are working on daily home routines, prefer therapy in familiar environments, want to avoid extra clinic travel, and need services that fit smoothly into a busy household with multiple children.

How We Work Together

Our process is simple, collaborative, and built around your family—so you always know what’s happening, why it’s happening, and how it supports your child’s growth.

1.

We start with an assessment.

Your BCBA spends time with you and your child, asking questions about what’s working, what’s hard, and what you hope will change.

That conversation shapes everything that comes next.

2.

Then we build a plan.

Your BCBA designs a treatment plan specific to your child’s needs.

Maybe that’s working on communication, reducing challenging behaviors, building social skills, or making daily routines smoother. The plan is based on your child, not a template.

3.

Therapy begins at your home.

A Behavior Technician (sometimes called an RBT) comes to your house for regular sessions.

Your BCBA checks in often to see how things are going and adjusts strategies as your child makes progress.

4.

You see what's happening.

We track data so you can see concrete progress.

You’ll have regular conversations with your therapy team about what’s working and what needs to change.

Why Families Choose United Care ABA

You’re a partner, not a bystander. You’re not just watching therapy happen—you’re learning the same techniques the therapist uses. That way, progress doesn’t stop when the session ends. You’ll know what to do when your child struggles with something at 7 p.m. on a Tuesday.

BCBA oversight from day one. Your child’s program is designed and supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst from the beginning. It’s not a generic plan—it’s built for your child and adjusted as they grow.

We work with your insurance. Most major insurance plans cover ABA therapy, including Medicaid. We’ll help you navigate coverage and handle the authorization process.

We’re flexible with scheduling. We serve families throughout Colorado, New Jersey, and New York and the surrounding area, and we work around your schedule as much as possible.

Questions Parents Ask

Should we do in-home or clinic-based therapy?

In-home therapy works especially well when your main goals involve daily routines, household behaviors, or if your child does better in familiar settings. Clinic-based therapy offers more peer interaction and specialized equipment. Many families combine both. Learn more about choosing between settings.

How involved do I need to be as a parent?

You don’t need to be in the room for every minute of therapy, but you should be nearby and available. Part of in-home ABA is parent coaching—your therapist will show you strategies you can use throughout the day. The more you’re involved, the faster your child typically progresses.

How quickly can we get started?

Once we verify your insurance coverage and complete the initial assessment, most families begin therapy within a few weeks. We’ll walk you through each step and keep you informed about timing.

What does scheduling look like?

Session frequency depends on your child’s treatment plan and insurance authorization—anywhere from a few hours per week to 20+ hours. We work with your family’s schedule to find times that make sense.

Do you accept our insurance?

We accept most major insurance plans and Medicaid. Contact us with your insurance information, and we’ll verify your coverage and explain your benefits before you commit to anything.
